Things To Do In Dixie County Florida

Dixie County’s east side is bordered by the Suwannee River, a great place to kayakcamp, or join a fishing charter. Also, on the west border of Dixie is the Steinhatchee River, a renowned spot for red fish and trout fishing.

On the edge the county’s coast you will not find the usual sugar-sand beaches that make up most of Florida’s coasts, instead you will find channels surrounded by deep vegetation and greenery. But boaters do not fret! There are plenty of marinas and ramps around the area so you can enjoy the world class fishing that Dixie has to offer.

In addition to fishing, Dixie County is famous for boasting some of the best scalloping in the nation along the Big Bend Bay Scalloping Trail.

Beyond the coast and into the Gulf of Mexico lies Dixie’s Natural and Artificial Reef System where you can partake in activities such as fishingpaddling, and snorkeling
