Escambia County is the western most county in the Florida panhandle, it is believed to get its name from the Creek Native American word meaning ‘clear water’. Things To Do In Escambia County Florida
The city of Pensacola lies almost at the southernmost point of Escambia County and overlooks Pensacola Bay. There are tons of things to do in the city such as hiking the trails at the Big Lagoon State Park or engage in one of the many historic opportunities available including the National Aviation Museum, Fort Barrancas, and Historic Pensacola Village. Just a short drive along the scenic Pensacola Bay Bridge brings you to Pensacola Beach, where you can spend the day at one of the many soft sandy beaches or explore the grounds of old Fort Pickens. As well as gorgeous views, Pensacola Beach is home to an abundant amount of gorgeous ocean front homes and luxury resorts, for example, the Margaritaville Beach Hotel and Portofino Island Resort. Another amazing part of Escambia County worth mentioning is Perdido Key, its shores are less populated, thus it is an excellent place to rent jet skis or spend a day on a fishing charter!
