Things To Do In Santa Rosa County Florida
The Blackwater River State Forest Recreation Area is in the city of Holt, Florida. The park has amenities such as camping, fishing, and beginning to moderate level hiking trails. South West of Holt is the city of Milton, Santa Rosa’s County Seat. Milton being one of Florida’s oldest cities holds a rich history that its residents want to share.
Places such as the West Florida Railroad Museum and the Blackwater Heritage State Trail are excellent opportunities to learn more about Milton and the state of Florida.
To the southeast of Milton and at the beginning of Santa Rosa County’s “mini” panhandle, you will find the city of Navarre. Navarre is a mostly residential beach town with a multitude of fun things to do. Cross the Causeway to access Navarre Beach Marine Park and Fishing Pier where you can catch some rays and enjoy the crystal-clear water.
Other watersports such as fishing, kayaking, and jet skiing are popular activities at Navarre Beach. Additionally, Navarre offers a multitude of fun educational opportunities including the Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center and the Navarre Beach Science Station.
Lastly, in the city of Gulf Breeze, enjoy a leisurely day at the Gulf Breeze Zoo or at one of the many beach access points, such as the Naval Live Oaks Nature Preserve.
